Image Of A Vacuum Tube - 2E26 In the "old days" in Topeka, KS, everyone worked AM and CW. SSB came along and everyone said it would not work. Today, AM is not in the cards, but there is still a lot of AM ham stations around. I remember the first FM repeater in Topeka. 2 hams build it, top to bottom. I think it had a 2E26 in the final. I still love the old tube stuff, that's why my shack has all Heathkit stuff. I cheat a little and use three SS-9000s, or my standby rig a 756 PRO, but I still go back to my SB-102. After all. I need a rig that clears 5 kc each side !!
