September 8th - The Latest On Kay
By Bill, WØQNI

YEAH

I had wanted to write this note on Monday but had to wait a few days as they kept Kay at Kaiser for 6 extra days to treat an infection.

She is doing much better than we could ever ask for. At 1 PM Saturday she was transferred by ambulance to a skilled nursing center in Petaluma, CA where she will continue her rehab. She still has a number of problems (the wound healing) and getting her strength back.

So far she has spent 60 days at Kaiser. 45 in ICU, 7 days in a ward private room and then 8 days in a 3 bed room.

She sends her love to all of you and will be sending notes of thanks to all.

Again, thanks for all your prayers,

Bill WØQNI

Net Caps

July 21st

Bill, our statistician For the last 2 months or so, we have been averaging about 70 check ins per net night, Last Sunday night, we had 76. Last nights net (7-21-09) there were 71 check ins.

One thing we have noted is that "new" check ins seem to come in at the end of the net. Most have said that they have been listening for a while before checking in. One fellow said he had been listening for a month. Another said he really enjoyed the humor. Another said it was neat to hear his name called.

As time permits, we will be entering more info on the web site.

WARFA welcomes all amateurs to an evening of friendship. There is no roll call. Everyone has a chance to talk about his day, week, health, the weather or whatever they want to talk about. WARFA is divided into 3 regions, North (Alaska down to the Canadian border), Central and South. In this way, with the help of our relays, even a QRP station from Canada gets a chance to talk.

Our HF net meets at 8 p.m., Pacific Time, every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights on 3.908 Mhz.

The WARFA puppies keeping track of our visitors!

This website is designed with and looks its best in Firefox   Firefox is the free, compliant, open source browser. Anyone with a year 2000+ operating system can use Firefox. We do check our pages for viewability in MSIE, Opera, Chrome, Safari, and our nephew's widescreen laptop. Here at HZN studios we use both Firefox and Opera daily. If you're still running Windows 98, the Opera browser may modernise your web browsing experience at least to some extent. Blame shifting: Design coordinators: Bart, WA6HZN & Bill, WØQNI. Bart and Bill wrangle politely, reach consensus, then Bart pounds out the webpage code and uploads the results. A few our our features require broadband internet access, but much of our site should work fine on a dial up or handheld.
